About
Bex and Emma are back with their autumn retreat, inviting you to cross a doorway between worlds at an auspicious turning point of the year.
As leaves fall from the trees, mist rises across the fields, and the spirits come forth. One cycle completes and a pause awaits before the next begins.

Across three days in the Chiltern Hills, we will immerse ourselves in embodied practices, sound, stillness and nature. Together, we'll honour the Gaelic festival of Samhain - a doorway between worlds - through ritual, storytelling, and an exploration of liminal space in both our external and internal landscapes.
Drawing from their practices and studies in Buddhism, Daoism, psychotherapy and paganism, Bex and Emma create a enriching, integrated experience that harnesses the transformative energy of this auspicious time and offers participants both grounding and insight as we navigate seasonal change.
You'll leave this retreat with renewed clarity and embodied practices to carry you through the darker months, and a deeper connection to natural cycles and your own inner wisdom.
Your Retreat Home
Our retreat takes place in the enchanting grounds of Braziers Park - a Grade II listed gothic mansion nestled in the south Oxfordshire countryside.
Braziers Park is one of the UK's oldest intentional communities, and we share the space with its group of residents who collectively tend to the historic house, organic kitchen gardens, and surrounding woodlands.
In a setting that invites you into a deeper connection with the season's liminal magic, we encourage you to explore the grounds, gardens and centuries-old trees.
What to expect
Across 4 days, Emma and Bex will guide you through:
Embodied Movement including daily dynamic yoga, yin yoga & qigong.
Meditation and visualisation to explore layers of your experience.
Sound baths with gongs and crystal bowls.
Ritual and ceremony with tea and cacao.
Storytelling and myths over our evening bonfire.
Journaling to consolidate learning.
Nature connection with space to walk outdoors and quiet corners for contemplation.
Going device-free & silence:
Disconnecting fully from the outside world can help you get the most out of your retreat. We encourage participants to go device-less, and offer an option of handing in of your phone at the start of the retreat. We understand that completely disconnecting may not be feasible for everyone with responsibilities at home, so the decision is ultimately yours.
The retreat will have periods of silence which is a way of going deeper in your practice (the longest period will last from our final evening session until after breakfast). If you are unfamiliar with silence as a practice, we are happy to chat more about what you can expect.

Your Teachers

Bex Arthur
Bex sees each class as a chance for transformation in the way we feel and inhabit the world. With a twinkly enthusiasm, she brings in teachings from Jivamukti yoga, yin, nidra, sound healing and Buddhism to settle the mind and explore expanded states of awareness.

Emma Tian Williamson
Emma is a qigong, mindfulness, and yoga teacher who believes that embodied practices are the antidote to the stresses of modern life. Passionate about sharing these tools, she guides others toward navigating the world with greater calm and ease. Growing up practicing qigong with her mother, Emma developed a deep connection to its meditative movements. Her classes blend Chinese philosophy, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, helping students connect with their inner wisdom of mind and body.

Experiences from last year
It was all just excellent! I thought the whole programme was incredibly well considered and thoughtfully put together. The combination of all the different practices was really interesting, unique and actually unlike any retreat I've been on before. You guys are a super duo! It's amazing what a positive impact the whole experience had on me in such a short time - I've had a real spring in my step this week and feel a lot less overwhelmed by things :) I also thought the venue and whole ethos of Braziers Park was the perfect backdrop.

It was a truly restorative weekend. You guys really thought about every detail and created such a beautiful vibe where everyone felt safe and right at home. I really felt like a different person leaving 🤍 Such a great mixture of activities and lots of personal touches that felt very unique to the two of you made it extra special.

Emma and Bex complimented each other so well and the whole thing ran so smoothly form start to finish. You can tell how much thought and care went through all of it and it felt so much longer than just a weekend, in the best way! It was such a wonderful group of women as well and I could definitely see making this a part of my annual reset.

It was a fantastic retreat and incredibly healing and restorative. Loved the theme - so apt for the season and incredibly resonant. A very good tool to get into the deeper layers of subconscious. Feel very rejuvenated and also like I’ve unlocked a lot of things I want to keep working on

I feel very different today compared to last week before the retreat, and I know the effects will stay with me for a while. I’m inspired to make some positive changes based on the clarity I gained over the weekend. Thank you!
